Intel Pro/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Mark: Good User 1:
In my other post in this group I stated that I got the NIC working by filling in 0,1,2 or 3 in the field for Media Speed & Duplex.
This way the adapter is forced to use specific settings and it works when connecting to internet, but now I cannot connect from home to my PC at work. This Intel Pro NIC is at my home PC and I'm using Netop through internet to connect to work.
If I leave the field for speed/duplex blank the NIC operates in automatic mode (the way I prefer), but then I cannot even connect to internet.
Does anyone have a solution or ideas?
There are 2 solutions for that problem:
- Intel driver version 3.62 works with Intel Pro/1000 GT [8086:107c],
earlier and later versions do not (either "Device not found" with earlier
revisions, or the symptoms you describe with later revisions).
- GenMAC can be made working perfectly with this NIC in unsupported mode.
GenMac is faster and there are absolutely no stability issues here.
