IBM Thinkpad G41
Mark: Average (the report is combined by ecomstation.ru)
I installed eComStation 2.0 RC7 last weekend, and purposely used it all this week for my regular work. This is a Thinkpad G41, with an Intel
processor, 767 mb of memory and a 40 Gig hard drive.
For the first time I could use the smp kernel and ACPI with the usual
parameters smp/ apic. The system shows two processors, and works a bit faster than RC6a, where installing the smp
kernel would lock things up on the reboot.
The extended shutdown does nothing, but the regular shutdown works well.
Suspend actually does something - it gives me a screen of colored garbage, and only a reboot will fix it. But before nothing
happened on the suspend. (I don't mind. On this computer I have no reason to suspend.)
The only other glitch I have found so
far is that VPC, set up as usual with a WIN98 vhd that I always use for the two programs I need it for, will boot only so far
and then stop. I will experiment more with that, to see if I missed something in setting it up.
