microdrome: let the usbdock window grow
larger/higher in a future version when more than 4 devices are attached ?
|
2009/09 |
Andreas Ludwig:
Can the USB dock get a help menu item that displays the readme on how to upload the info - I searched for it quite a while. Also, USB dock should remember its window size on close and restore on next program start. It wold also be nice if some actions could be preformed on the USB devices (like opening the USB stick or ejecting the device).

Another suggestion: Allow the user to save a device report to a .TXT
file via a Right-click in the report window. This would save having to
cut & paste into an editor, and might get you more reports. You could
even offer to save the device report and send it to you via e-mail
(mailto: type of thing) whenever you find an unknown device. You might
get more than you bargained for!

eJoJo: and if an unknown device is found, I get this message to send 'the
logfile' to you, but I (Joe User) have no clue which logfile you're referring to
it would be smart to add a button to open the file or something (actually,
this is of course 'show detailed log' - but that is not a file that someone
can email, nor does that control have clipboard functionality)
|

eJoJo: another suggestion:
it is annoying that there is no feedback when you change the 'size of icons' that it requires a restart of the program
to see it
or maybe even, automatically restart to make it effective.
right now it is not very 'userfriendly'
(i.e. menu action has no effect == bad_

eJoJo: I have 1400 x 1050,
like I said, I can enlarge the window of course
but I think it is better if it is smaller.
so, my idea of putting the 'device name' on line 1
and the actual 'logitech ..' on line 2.
makes some sense.
I think it is the easiest solution.
some USB devices have long names apparently

eJoJo: the text is soon 'too long' for the PM area to display properly,
couldn't that one line area be changed into a textarea or something?
also the 'captions' (blue text) is a bit wide.
the solution may be to put the captions on one line and the value on the next.
that saves a lot of space,
