ALSA (Universal drivers for sound cards ) for OS/2 is under construction.

Achim Hasenmueller joined discussion of universal drivers for OS/2 and wrote (14 feb, 2002):

"We had this idea over a year ago and we are working on this. The result will (or should be - can't speak for them) available as an IBM branded and supported OS/2 driver update. It's not based on OSS. It's based on ALSA which is the "real" open sound architecture and as of 2.5, also part of the Linux kernel."
